I have experience working with a range of physical health problems including: pain related to physical health problems, back pain, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), pain related physical injuries e.g. road traffic accidents. I look at not just the health issue itself, but the whole context of the illness in the life of the person and the people surrounding them.

Both psychological and physical health problems don’t only affect one person, but also their family, friends and colleagues. Indeed, the family may be the main source of emotional and physical support for the individual.

Physical health problems can lead to depression and anxiety. A typical response can be disbelief, despair, and a sense of lack of direction in life. But for some, the advent of a physical problem can prompt the desire to make life changes – and I can offer support in making them.

If you have physical health problems you probably have already seen or continue to see medical professionals. I will liaise with other professionals involved in your care to providing comprehensive care.

I can help you identify areas of personal development, including, the development of your self awareness and identity, in addition to the development of individual talent and potential.

Stress is an increasingly common factor in daily living, either in the workplace or in personal life. A small degree of stress can help you feel energized, whilst too much overwhelms your ability to cope and enjoy life. I can help you identify sources of stress that overwhelm you and rather than avoid them help you find strategies to manage them more effectively, or make different choices.

For many, the main goal of Business Coaching is to improve their business performance and operational effectiveness. Other goals can be to take an overview of career development. The business coaching process enables people to reach their potential in the areas that they identify. Through the process the individual develops a greater awareness of their attitudes and aptitudes, as well as the blocks that are getting in their way. In this area I draw on Cognitive-Behavioural and Systemic Approaches as well as Positive Psychology.

As part of running a successful business or organisation, you may sometimes need an assessment of current psychological state and level of functioning of an employee. If needed, the report may focus on abilities to carry out particular occupational duties. Areas covered include: Personal and Family History, Treatment History, History of Present Problems as recalled by individual, Employment History, Current Symptoms, Psychological Formulation and Opinion, Prognosis and Treatment Recommendations.

Instructions are taken from Insurance Companies or requested by Occupational Health professionals.

The consultation involves a comprehensive assessment of the person. Depending on the instruction psychological testing may also be part of the assessment process. Information is drawn from other sources, such as GP medical notes and previous reports. If the individual agrees, it can be helpful to talk with a relative or friend. The information gathered is used to complete the report.
